About Lolo Cards
We make conversation cards that turn an ordinary evening into a conversation you'll remember with the people closest to you - and help you find out how much you still don't know about each other.
What Lolo Cards is
Lolo Cards is a conversation card app for iPhone. It holds 4,700 cards: 4,100 questions in 41 decks of 100 cards each, plus 600 cards for mini-games. The decks sit in four categories: Me, Couples, Family and Friends.
- Smart Session. Answer a few quick questions - how many cards, who you're with, the mood - and the app builds a set of 10, 20, 30 or 50 cards. It ends where you said it would.
- Mini-games. What Would You Do? (illustrated situations), Most Likely To, This or That and Show Me a Photo (find it in your camera roll and show the table).
- Voice answers. Tap the mic on a card and keep the answer in the person's own voice. Come back later and hear it again.
- Card of the Day, favorites, sharing any card and seven color themes, one of them dark.
- No ads. No account, no sign-up.
Everything in the app and on this site stays inside the app's 13+ age rating.
What we believe
- Closeness is built in small conversations, not grand gestures.
- Even the people closest to us have stories we have never asked about.
- A good question beats good advice. We hand over the question and step back.
- The phone can be the campfire everyone sits around, not the feed everyone stares into alone.
This site
Lolo Cards publishes this site. It has two kinds of pages. Question lists - like questions for couples or questions to ask your grandparents - where every question comes word for word from the cards in the app. And ideas: short articles for a moment you're in - a first date, a long-distance call, dinner with your grandparents. How they are made is on How we write.
Meet the penguins
The articles are signed by three penguins from the app. They are characters, not people: they don't date, don't have grandmas and don't pretend to be experts. Each one has a voice and a topic.
-
Lolo
The one in round glasses who hosts Smart Session in the app. Family, deep talks and questions to ask yourself.
-
Mimi
The one with the lavender scarf and the bow. Couples: first dates, date nights and long distance.
-
Toto
The one in the party hat. Friends, game nights and party games.
